About the Tour
Every year, humpback whales migrate along the Brazilian coastline — and Rio de Janeiro is one of the most spectacular places to witness this natural phenomenon. These magnificent creatures can reach up to 15 meters in length and are known for their breathtaking acrobatics above the water's surface.
Our tour operates aboard a Brazilian Navy-authorized vessel, guided by a fully accredited naturalist guide who will share everything you need to know about humpback whale behavior, migration routes and conservation efforts. Safety and respect for marine life are at the heart of everything we do.
After the whale watching session in the open sea, we make a stop at the Tijuca Islands for a snorkeling session in crystal-clear waters. Dolphins are frequently spotted along the route, making this a truly complete wildlife experience on Rio's most beautiful waters.

Humpback whales typically migrate past Rio's coastline between June and November, with peak sightings usually in August and September. Please check on WhatsApp for current season availability and exact dates.
While we operate only during the migration season when sightings are highly likely, no wildlife encounter can ever be 100% guaranteed. Our guides know the area well and will do everything possible to find the whales. In the rare case of no sighting, we'll offer a discount on a future tour.
Absolutely. We follow all Brazilian Navy and IBAMA environmental regulations regarding whale watching. We maintain safe distances from the animals, never disturb their natural behavior and operate with deep respect for marine ecosystems.
Yes, children are welcome! The experience is amazing for families and kids love it. We recommend it for children aged 5 and over. Life vests are provided for all ages. Please inform us of children's ages when booking so we can prepare accordingly.
